Overview
Matria: Pregnancy Tracker (“Matria,” “we,” “us”) helps expecting and postpartum families track pregnancy-related information on their devices. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Data we process
Health and pregnancy information (sensitive)
When you use Matria, you may enter pregnancy phase, dates, symptoms, medications, vitals, appointments, kick counts, bump photos, postpartum recovery notes, and clinician summary content. By default, this information is stored locally on your device in encrypted SQLite storage. We do not sell sensitive health information.
Account and identifiers
- Matria can operate without email using an anonymous on-device profile (UUID).
- If you enable cloud sync (Supabase) or sign in with Firebase when available, we may store a
firebase_uidand profile metadata linked to your account.
Consent-controlled sharing
You control optional behaviors in Profile → Privacy & Consent:
- Analytics: optional usage events (not symptom or medication content).
- Partner sharing: only when you generate or share a support card.
- Clinician sharing: only when you copy or export a summary you create.
Photos
Bump photos you capture or import are stored locally unless you explicitly export or share them outside the app.
Third-party services
| Service | Purpose | Data shared |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase (optional) | Cloud profile/sync when enabled | Profile/sync payloads you configure; governed by Supabase policies |
| Google AdMob (Free tier) | Sponsored banners on non-sensitive screens | Device/advertising identifiers per Google policies; non-personalized ads requested where supported |
| Firebase (optional/planned) | Authentication, analytics, crash reporting when enabled | Identifiers and events per Firebase configuration |
| Expo / EAS | App delivery and updates | Standard build/diagnostic metadata |
Advertising and App Tracking Transparency
Matria may use Google AdMob to display ads in the app.
With your permission on iOS, Matria and its advertising partners may use your device’s advertising identifier to deliver more relevant ads and measure ad performance.
You can allow or deny tracking through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency permission prompt. You can also change your choice later in iOS Settings.
If you do not allow tracking, Matria may still show ads, but they may be less personalized.
We use Google test ad units in development builds.
Legal bases and your rights
Depending on your region (e.g., GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and to object to certain processing. Because Matria is local-first, many requests can be fulfilled on-device via Export Data or Delete All Data in Profile.
Children
Matria is intended for adults managing pregnancy or postpartum care. It is not directed to children under 13 (or 16 where applicable).
Security
We use industry-standard practices for app storage (including secure storage for sensitive settings). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
International transfers
If you enable cloud services, data may be processed in regions where those providers operate.
Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected in-app or on our website with a new “Last updated” date.
